Will This
Fit? FAQ
If we didn't
answer your question here, please use the "Ask Seller a
Question" feature in the auction listing to ask us.
|
How can I
be sure this part will fit my vehicle? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
When we
inventory our vehicles and their parts, we utilize a
system known as "Interchange" which helps us determine
what vehicles use what parts. This helps us
determine what other vehicles can donate the part that
you are seeking for your car. When we have the
interchange information for your part, it is listed in
the auction. This will give you the confidence
that, though we might have a different model year and
type of car, it will donate the correct part you are
seeking.
However,
even if we do state that this part will fit your
vehicle, we encourage you to consult with the parts
department of your local dealership before you make your
bid. This is especially true when you are
purchasing the part as an upgrade versus a direct
replacement.
|
|
What does
"No Interchange Information" mean? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
Our
Interchange system provides us with information to let
us know what other applications the particular part will
fit. As mentioned above, we check our database for
interchange information each time we purchase a car and
inventory its parts. If other applications are
listed, we will indicate what these are in the listing.
If the auction just lists the
vehicle the part was removed from and states "no
interchange information available," we do not know if it
will fit any other applications other than that
particular vehicle and the models years that make up its
design generation. We highly encourage you to consult
your local dealer to see if the part will fit your
vehicle before you place your bid.

|
Can you
provide additional photos of the part(s)? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
Unfortunately, we do not have any additional photos of
the various parts. We try our best to take photos
of the most important features of a part and list the
key features in the part description. So we are
not able to honor requests for additional photos.
If you
live in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, the parts are
available for inspection at our facility during regular
business hours. You are welcome to contact us and
arrange a visit.
|
|
Can I get
measurements of the part(s)? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
If the
measurements aren't stated in the listing, then we do
not have them available. Due to all the wide
variations of how things are measured, we find that the
actual results can differ from one person to the next.
If you are doing a custom installation, please consult
your local dealership for additional information.

|
Can I
replace my manual climate controls with automatic
(digital) controls? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
Most
likely not. Your vehicle will need to be pre-wired
for automatic (digital) climate controls.

My truck's
rear axle assembly (differential) has a different gear
ratio than what you list. Will it fit my truck? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
As long
as the interchange information confirms the
year/make/model, it will directly bolt to your truck.
However, there are some important considerations when
the gear ratios are different:
2-wheel drive applications: Putting a
different ratio in your truck may go off without a
hitch. But there are the following items you need
to consider before making your bid or purchase:
-
Your
speedometer will now be incorrect. Please
consult with your dealership on how to make the
right adjustments to bring this back to true.
-
On
more modern trucks, you may introduce stress to your
transmission that your truck was not designed for.
Be cause your transmission and it's electronic brain
are designed for the original gear ratio, changing
to a different ratio without making the right
changes to the shift points may cause damage to your
transmission. Again, consult with the
dealership before making this change.
-
The
braking system might be just different enough to
create an unsafe situation. This can come from
a change of brake size or differences in the
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS).
4-wheel drive applications:
Absolutely do not make a change to your gear ratio in
one axle without making the same change to the other.
If you currently have 3.73's in your truck and then
switch to a 3.42 ratio for the rear, you will
irrevocably damage both the rear and the front axle
assemblies as soon as you shift into 4-wheel drive.

Do you have
the theft lock code for this radio? |
▲TOP▲ |
|
If the
radio is designed with a theft lock feature, and it is
activated when you install it, it is your responsibility
to obtain the unlock code from your local new car
dealership service department. On our invoice that
is included with the part will be the VIN# of the
vehicle that donated the radio. This VIN will be
needed by the dealer to obtain the unlock code.
Sometimes the dealership will do this for you as a
courtesy. However, many dealerships will charge
for this service. Please be aware of the this
lockout feature and the cost to unlock the radio before
you make your purchase.
|
|
The
photograph you show does not match the one I removed
from my car. Or the photo says "For illustrative
purposes only". |
▲TOP▲ |
|
While we
do try to obtain the correct and actual photo for the
item being listed, this is not always possible.
Therefore we will occasionally use a "substitute" photo
to illustrate the basic design of the part.
When this
occurs, we will provide a photo to the winning bidder
before we ship out the part to both confirm the design
and to demonstrate that we have the correct item in good
or better condition. We will also take extra time
once the part arrives at your location to ensure that it
is what you wanted.
